The Diversity and Inclusion Committee is a group of volunteer of faculty, staff and students who are working to promote the various cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds that make up the Dugoni School family. The committee was founded in 2008.
Bay Area Physicians for Human Rights (BAPHR) is continuing its mentoring program for LGBT students/residents in the Bay Area (medicine, dentistry and other health sciences). BAPHR invites healthcare students to pair up with professionals working in their field. Please note, mentoring is not an internship. Rather, it matches students with more senior LGBT members of their profession to provide support during their training through an ongoing relationship of learning, dialogue, challenge and career guidance. The general expectation is that the mentoring relationship will last for one year. You should be able to commit to check in with your mentor at least monthly, either face-to-face or by email. If you are interested in being mentored by an LGBT health care provider, please send an email to Peter Farmer at email@example.com.
