This workshop focused on development of a holistic view of health and wellness. Five specific aspects of wellness: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual were discussed by Scott Plymale, LCSW, PhD, and licensed clinical social worker.
Health Risks of Smoking
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States and has negative health impacts on people at all stages of life. The most current scientific knowledge about the health effects of cigarette smoking and the benefits of cessation were discussed by Dr. Ferreira, a board certified oral pathologist and a full-time assistant professor at Pacific School of Dentistry.
The Health and Wellness Committee sponsored 25 minute one-on-one nutrition consultations with Kristin Hoppe, a Certified Nutrition Consultant, Educator, and Natural Chef. More information: http://foodtherapysf.com/about-kristin-hoppe/
