Archiving Groupwise E-mails
Archiving messages means to transfer files (in this case, e-mail messages in GroupWise) to long-term storage, so you can reference them later. This transfer of messages clears them from your inbox without deleting them, which can save you a lot of time searching for messages.
The basic process of archiving:
- Select the item or items you want to archive
- Tip: for a block of items, you can select the first item in a list, move to the last item in the list you want to archive, hold down the Shift key, then click your left mouse button).
- Click on the word "Actions" on the tool bar. In the drop-down menu, select "Archive".
- The item should disappear.
To view archived messages:
- Click File on your tool bar.
- In the drop down menu click on Open Archive.
- You should now be in the Archive View of stored information.
- Once you have finished viewing your archived messages, then click File > Open Archive again, to return to your current list of e-mails.
To bring an archived message back to the active mailbox:
- You are in Open Archive.
- Select the message that you want to move back.
