The course gives predental students an opportunity to learn about the admissions process from current dental students and a hands-on approach to learning about what the dental profession entails. Participants will get a chance to work at the Dugoni School of Dentistry's pre-clinical simulation laboratory and begin to develop manual dexterity skills. You will test your abilities, develop new skills, learn about the admission process into dental school, and make yourself a stronger applicant. At the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and experience to help you decide if dentistry is the right career choice for you.

Registration is now closed. 

Participants will:

  • Take an introductory course on periodontal probing
  • Participate in mock interviews and receive feedback
  • Learn to probe on a typodont within a mannequin
  • Learn to record periodontal pocket depths
  • Enhance manual dexterity
  • Use various dental instruments
  • Participate in a professionalism workshop
  • Learn first-hand about the Pacific admissions process from current students
  • Join students at a local restaurant for a meet and greet
  • Have the opportunity to win prizes in a drawing
  • Receive certification of attendance

Course fee: $175.00 for current ASDA members, $230 for non-members. Fee includes breakfast and lunch.
