Alumni, donors, friends, patients and others interested in supporting the future of dentistry and dental education excellence are invited to make an online gift to the school's Dean's Fund for Excellence this holiday season.
Gifts to the school's annual fund are used to provide Dean Patrick J. Ferrillo, Jr., with the flexibility to enhance the institution and the opportunity to meet any challenges that arise, without using student tuition.
Donations to the fund have recently been used to implement new technology such as an electronic patient records system across clinics in San Francisco, Union City and Stockton.
"As in past years, I continue to dedicate Dean's Fund gifts to improving technology at the school," explains Ferrillo. "Going forward, we will be introducing aXium, our electronic clinic software system, into our preclinical simulation lab. This comes on the heels of having implemented aXium in our Main Clinic and other clinics last year using Dean's Fund dollars."
Gifts of any amount are welcomed. Leadership gifts to the Dean's Fund for Excellence are recognized at the following levels: Pacific - $1,000; Silver - $2,500; Gold - $5,000 and Porcelain - $10,000. Recent graduates qualify for special leadership giving rates of $100 per year since graduation.
The school is encouraging donors to consider making a gift online this year in order to reduce the amount of paperwork involved in processing gifts sent by mail, and to increase the speed of gift receipt distribution to donors. Those interested in speaking to someone personally to make a gift are invited to call Jessica Jencek in the school's Office of Institutional Advancement at 415.351.7179.
"Gifts to the Dean's Fund for Excellence connect donors to our students, and to future generations," says Ferrillo. "It's that connection of giving back that is a strong measure of our strength as an institution. As the number of annual donors go up, so too does the strength of our dental school."
