University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry welcomes two individuals with experience in philanthropy and institutional advancement to the school's development department. Jeff Rhode has been hired as the associate dean for development and Will Hall as a major gifts officer. Both will be closely involved in various areas of the dental school's fundraising efforts, including its capital campaign to support the new campus in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood.
In his role as associate dean for development, Rhode will oversee all areas of fundraising for the dental school, including the capital campaign; the Pacific Dugoni Annual Fund; major and planned gifts; annual giving and advancement events. He will oversee the department's staff and work closely with school leaders, alumni, donors, and corporate and foundation partners to ensure the school moves forward to meet its fundraising goals.
Rhode has more than 12 years of leadership experience in development roles where his teams have succeeded in raising more than $60 million in support of higher education. He recently served as senior director of development and alumni relations for the School of Pharmacy at University of California, San Francisco. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership positions at University of California, Berkeley, including senior director of development in university relations; executive director of development for the College of Engineering; and director of corporate and foundation relations and major gifts for the Walter A. Haas School of Business. He also worked as part of UC Berkeley's Athletic Department media relations group, following earlier work at ESPN.
Rhode holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from UC Berkeley, and a Masters of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco. He and his wife Nada live in Kensington, Calif., with their two sons, Miles and Oliver, ages seven and five.
Hall joins the Pacific Dugoni family as a major gifts officer, responsible for guiding alumni, donors, community members and others interested in supporting the dental school through philanthropy. He will play an important role in the school's upcoming capital campaign to support the new dental school campus.
Hall comes to the school from the University of Chicago, where he held the position of senior associate director of development and was responsible for major gift fundraising and opening a regional alumni relations and development office in San Francisco. He also has past experience in sales and has worked for companies such as Apple, Ryland Homes and duPont Publishing. Hall earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts. He and his wife Felicia live in San Francisco with their nearly one-year-old son, Beckett.
