The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry community congratulates Robert Trezia who was honored with the third-annual Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award during a reception at the school on Dec.9.
Trezia, the school's clinic business manager, was acknowledged for his years of service and dedication to the dental school community. His impact on the dental school is widespread — Trezia oversees patient services, cashiers, billing/collection and the school's CARE clinic. He also interacts with patients on a daily basis, serves as a member of numerous committees and workgroups, and is highly involved with Project Homeless Connect.
"Robert has a very positive outlook that is infectious to those around him," said Dr. Richard Fredekind, professor and associate dean for Clinical Services. "He is comfortable with any group including patients, staff, managers, faculty, administration and external groups. He truly helps to shape and maintain the culture of humanism here at the Dugoni School of Dentistry."
The Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award is funded by University of the Pacific Vice President for Finance Patrick Cavanaugh and his wife Janita. It recognizes staff members from the Stockton, Sacramento and San Francisco campuses for exceptional accomplishments, leadership, innovation and service to the university community. Dental school faculty and staff nominate colleagues who have contributed to the school's vision, mission and values.
"It is an honor to have received the Cavanaugh Distinguish Award," said Trezia. "I am deeply grateful and indebted to Dr. Fredekind for his continued support, inspiration and leadership."
He added, "Without the support and hard work of my staff and colleagues this would not have been possible."
