Seventeen Dental School Students Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society

Six of the dental school's inducted Phi Kappa Phi students after the April 20 ceremony.

Seventeen Class of 2012 students from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry have been inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the oldest and largest interdisciplinary honor society in the United States. The Dugoni School of Dentistry students joined peers from Pacific's Stockton and Sacramento campuses at a recognition ceremony held April 20 at University of the Pacific's main campus.

Phi Kappa Phi inductees were all ranked in the top 10 percent of their respective classes. Fourteen students from the DDS Class of 2012, two students from the International Dental Studies (IDS) Class of 2012 and one student from the Dental Hygiene Class of 2012 were admitted.

Initiated Dugoni School of Dentistry students (in alphabetical order) are: Maryam Ajami, Steven Alexander, Christopher Charles, Alexandra Fletcher, Martin Galstyan, Maryse Gellad, Eugene Han, Graham Hearn, Jia Huang, Kurt Goodell, Prajakta Kamat, Kenley Michaud, Kevin Robertson, Rupinderpal Singh, Kristina Svensson, Daniel Unzicker and Chirag Vaid.

"Phi Kappa Phi student inductees are extremely dedicated to learning, and this recognition is a testament to their hard work," said Dr. Nader Nadershahi, executive associate dean and associate dean for academic affairs, who attended the ceremony to recognize the students' achievement. "I congratulate the students who recently joined the honor society on their tremendous accomplishment."

In addition to recognizing academic achievement, Phi Kappa Phi offers opportunities to assist members throughout their academic and professional lives. Awards and scholarships, career assistance and training opportunities are among the benefits offered to active members.
