Welcome students in the class of 2020! Originally, commencement weekend was planned for June 12-14, 2020, however we have decided to postpone Commencement Weekend activities. The input from students and residents is that the majority would prefer a class celebration in person if possible at a future date, rather than a virtual event. Our commencement planning committee will collaborate on ideas toward that goal. Please visit this page often because it will be regularly updated with new information.
With so many family and friends attending the Commencement ceremony, be sure to arrive early. Parking is available at the Masonic for $35 and also at nearby public garages. We recommend using public transit to get to The Masonic. The flow of traffic will be heavy around the Masonic, so please allow for extra time to arrive.
Hooders have an assigned seat near the stage for easy stage access. When you arrive at the venue, please let an usher know and he/she will show you to your seat in the hooder section.
Please note you will not be able to sit with the rest of your family. Your spouse/guests should find any unreserved seats available. Please arrive no later than 1:00 pm to receive the proper instructions with regards to the hooding process. Dress for hooders is business attire.
Please make arrangements to meet other guests following the ceremony in the main lobby or outside. Trying to meet in other areas is difficult as it will be very crowded.
If you have any questions regarding the ceremony, please feel free to contact the Dean's Office at 415.929.6425.
Academic regalia (except the cap and tassel) must be returned to the designated collection point labeled "Regalia Return" at the Masonic before 5:00 pm on Commencement day. Failure to return the regalia will result in a charge to the student's account. Replacement cost if rentals are not returned are $370.90 (Doctor), $249.80 (Master), and $191.90 (Bachelor).
